Former commerce minister Tofail Ahmed has said there will never be a non-partisan government in Bangladesh.
He made the statement while addressing a program organized by Bhola Sadar Upazila Awami League on Monday.
The election commission will not be abolished by anyone’s words as the commission has been formed as per the country’s law, he said.
The Awami League Advisory Committee member added that BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s wish to bring a change in the election commission and a non-partisan government will never be fulfilled.
He further said that Fakhrul’s remarks was keeping the party (BNP) alive. “If Nobel prize is given for providing statements, he will surely get it.”
He urged everyone to work for Awami League unitedly.
District Awami League Senior Vice President Abdul Momin Tulu, General Secretary Mainul Hossain Biplab also spoke on the occasion while Bhola Sadar Upazila Awami League General Secretary Md Nazrul Islam Goldar presided over the meeting.
