A Bangladeshi youth was shot dead while two others suffered bullet wounds by some members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along the Dainur border area in Sadar upazila of Dinajpur on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Minhaz, 18, son of Jahangir, a resident of the Khanpur area in the upazila.
The injured are Sagar, 20, and Entajul, 25. They are receiving medical treatment in India under the supervision of BSF.
Confirming the matter, Ahsan Habib, chairman of Kamalpur union parishad, said Minhaz died on the spot. His body is still lying on the Indian territory.
Dainur Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) BOP Commander Akhtar Hossain, said: “A flag meeting will be held soon to bring back the body.”
