An on-duty sub-inspector (SI) was killed when a truck hit him on the city’s Afilgate bypass road area early Thursday.
The deceased, Abdul Haque, 54, from Bagherpara upazila of Jessore, was a sub-inspector (SI) of Khanjahan Ali police station.
Md Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Khanjahan Ali police station, said the body of the deceased was sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Later, the body will be sent to the hometown of the policeman following the first namaz-e-janaza at the Khanjahan Ali police station, he added.
The police managed to seize the truck immediately.
