At least 20 people have been injured in a clash between BNP and Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists in Pirojpur on Friday.
The clash took place after BNP staged a rally against the recent price hike in fuel oil prices, transport fares and ongoing power crisis.
BCL members attacked the rally when they were returning from the program, said Pirojpur district BNP Convener Alamgir Hossain.
District unit Bangladesh Chhatra Dal Organizational Secretary Salahuddin Talukdar Kumar said the several activists, including the General Secretary of District Bangladesh Chhatra Dal Sheikh Badiuzzaman Rubel were attacked..
“The district BNP office was also been vandalized by the BCL activists,” he added.
AJM Masuduzzaman Talukder, officer-in-charge (OC) of Pirojpur Sadar police station, said the situation is currently under control.
