Police on Saturday arrested the husband of Rajshahi Univeristy (RU) student Rita Akhter, whose body was found hanging from a window at a residence in the district’s Binodpur area.
Ishtiaque Rabbi, who was in police custody, has been seen arrested on Saturday after Rita’s father filed a murder case with Motihar police station, reports Bangla Tribune.
“The body has been kept in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue. The cause of death will be known after receiving the post-mortem report,” Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anwar Ali Tuhin said.
Rita Akhter, 21, was a second-year student of Law and Justice Department of Rajshahi University. Her husband Rabbi is a second-year student in theApplied Mathematics Department of the same university.
The couple got married two and a half years ago.
