State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak has on Tuesday said one thousand youths will be given IT training every year at Khulna Hi-Tech Park.
“About three thousand people will also be employed in different sectors,” he said after laying the foundation stone of the Hi-Tech Park on the banks of the Rupsha River.
He was accompanied by Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukdar Abdul Khaleque.
Later, a discussion meeting was held on the occasion at the District Shilpakala Academy Auditorium.
Speaking as the chief guest, Abdul Khaleq said that no one keeps their promises like Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“She (Hasina) said Digital Bangladesh will be built by 2021, she has done that. We are all enjoying the benefits of that digital Bangladesh. Now, after building Padma bridge with her own money, she has shown that we can do wonders,” he added.

In his address, Palak said that this high-tech park would provide an opportunity for the people of the region to enhance their IT skills.
He also said: “As a result of various technological initiatives of the government, inequality between villages and cities of the country has been eliminated.
“By 2025, three million young people will be employed in the technology industry and the revenue from this sector will be $5 billion. With these goals in mind, construction work for this high-tech park is being started in 12 districts of the country. Will be in other districts in phases.”
Mentioning that the construction of Hi-Tech Park in Khulna will cost Tk170 crore, the state minister said that there will be floors for startups, business, training, and incubation in the seven-storey building.
The construction work of the High-Tech Park in Khulna is scheduled to be done by June 30, 2024.
Palak called upon the people of Khulna to use this opportunity to prepare for the challenge of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
