One dead, four injured in Gopalganj three-way crash

Trucks ram into each other on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway

One person was killed while four others were injured in a three-way collision of trucks on the Dhaka-Khulna highway on Thursday

The deceased was identified as 42-year-old Nityananda Biswas, who had a motorcycle dealership.

Nityananda bought eight motorcycles from Dhaka and was transporting those to Jessore on the truck, said police. 

At Dumdia area, another truck came in to overtake the truck when it collided head-on with a third truck. 

The drivers and three others were injured. When the locals rescued the injured and took them to Gopalganj Sadar hospital, the on-duty doctor declared Nityananda Biswas dead, said Sub Inspector (SI) Mohammad Noor Soleman of Bhatiapara Highway police outpost.

Severely injured Alamin, 26, has been sent to Khulna for advanced treatment, said the police officer.
