The government is developing the villages of the country by implementing different projects to improve lifestyle of the people, Awami League Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak has said.
Mosques, madrasas and temples should promote these projects that include “Amar Gram, Amar Shohor” (My village, my town) and “Palli Sanchay Bank” ( Rural Savings Bank), he said while attending a conference of party representatives in Moulvibazar on Monday

He added that the government had allocated Tk5,000 crore for the betterment of the tea garden workers and Tk5.56 crore for the advancement of “Bede” community.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to bring them into the mainstream by setting up schools and ensuring safe drinking water,” Nanak said, asking party leaders and activists to promote these development works.

He also said that the children of the tea garden workers needed to be brought under the umbrella of the ruling party.
Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Md Shahab Uddin, Organizational Secretary Ahmed Hossen, Moulvibazar 4 lawmaker Abdus Shahid and Deputy Secretary Sayem Khan were present among others during the conference.
