Police arrested a man on Saturday for allegedly beating his mother to death over a family feud at Ramgarh Upazila in Khagrachhari.
Ibrahim, 24, was held after a murder case was lodged against him following the incident. Md Shamsuzzaman, officer-in-charge of Ramgarh police station confirmed the matter.
Ibrahim and his mother had an altercation at around 10:30pm on Saturday, police said. At one point, the man started beating up his mother Bibi Rahima, 60. The woman sustained serious head injuries and died on the spot.
Police later recovered her body after being informed by the neighbours.
The body has been sent for an autopsy, said the OC.
