Police recovered the body of a man lying under a tree at Bhandaria Upazila of Pirojpur on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Naeem Bepari, 25, from Posharibunia area of the upazila.
He used to share rides on motorcycles, local people said.
Confirming the matter, Bhandaria Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Masumur Rahman Biswas said the body was sent to morgue for autopsy.
Raju Bepari, brother of the deceased, said Naeem went to a local kitchen market bazar on Friday night to watch the final match of BPL on television. But he did not return home.
“When he did not return home at night, his relatives started searching for him only to find his body under a tree next to the house. Later, they informed the police,” the OC said.
A mobile phone, a torchlight, a sharp blade, medicines, two bottles were found near the body.
Naeem’s wife Nabila said she talked to her husband at around 11:30pm when Naeem said he would return home after a while.
