A man was killed in a clash between two groups over previous enmity dispute in Habiganj on Saturday.
At least 25 people, including women and children, were injured in the clash that took place at Nagar village of Ajmiriganj Upazila in the afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Lutfur Rahman, 55.
According to police, there was a longstanding dispute between Moklis Mia and Jahangir Mia over supremacy. Followers of Moklis and Jahangir engaged in a clash at noon on Saturday. Several people were injured in the clash.
Later, Ajmiriganj police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
The injured were taken to Habiganj Sadar Hospital and Upazila Health Complex.
After police left the scene, the groups again locked in a clash that left Lutfur Rahman seriously injured.
He was rushed to Ajmeriganj Upazila Health Complex where duty doctor declared him dead, police said.
