A man eloped with another man’s wife a month ago, leading to a clash that has left at least 11 injured in Faridpur.
The skirmish took place at Nagarkanda upazila’s Kaichail union on January 26.
Two of the 11 were admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital, three to Nagarkanda Upazila Health Complex, while the rest received first aid.
According to locals, Anis Matubbor ran away with the wife of Shahin Fakir a month ago. There was an altercation over the matter between Anis’s younger brother Sujan and Shahin and his brother on January 26.
The argument soon snowballed into a clash between locals, leaving 11 injured.
Nagarkanda police later went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Kaichail UP Chairman Mostafa Khan said necessary measures would be taken after a discussion with both parties.
Nagarkanda police station OC Habil Hossain said a complaint has not been filed yet in this connection.
