A man has died while his wife recovered after treatment as both took poison over a family dispute in Saltha, Faridpur.
The deceased is Shahadat Sardar, 28, hailing from Jadunandi area of the upazila.
They attempted suicide on Tuesday night after a brawl, say locals, who rushed them to Maksudpur Upazila Health Complex.
The woman recovered at the hospital, but Shadadat’s condition deteriorated. He died while being taken to Dhaka for advanced treatment on Wednesday night.
Officer-in-Charge of Saltha police station Md Ashiquzzaman confirmed the incident with Dhaka Tribune on Thursday.
He said that police were investigating the incident.
