A Juba League leader has been sued under the Digital Security Act (DSA) for accusing an Awami League lawmaker of illegal gains through nomination trade.
The case was filed against Chittagong South unit Juba League leader Mohammad Kamal Uddin for his Facebook post against Chittagong South Awami League President and Member of Parliament from Chittagong 8 constituency Moslem Uddin Ahmed.
Kamal Uddin is also an additional public prosecutor at the Chittagong Judge’s Court.
Awami League’s Satkania Upazila unit Joint General Secretary Hossain Kabir filed the case with the court of Judge SK Tofail Hasan of the Chittagong Cyber Tribunal on Monday for carrying out false and baseless defamatory propaganda on Facebook.
The tribunal has directed the Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate the matter.
The Juba League leader alleged that it was Hossain Kabir who had received a bank cheque on behalf of MP Moslem Uddin.
Kamal Uddin told Dhaka Tribune that both the parties were solving the matter mutually, but on Monday he came to know about the case.
