The massive fire that broke out on Wednesday night at Nasir Glass and Industries Limited in Tangail's Mirzapur upazila has finally been brought under control after 15 hours.

A total of nine firefighting units managed to put out the fire at around 2pm on Thursday, Tangail Fire Service and Civil Defense Assistant Director Rezaul Karim told Dhaka Tribune.

“The fire broke out at around 11pm on Wednesday. No casualties have been reported yet," he said.

The firefighters primarily suspect that the fire originated at the warehouse of the factory on the ground floor.

Rezaul said the fire quickly spread due to flammable materials like chemicals and plastic goods around the factory.

The firefighters struggled to put out the fire due to poisonous gas created at the scene.

"The fire has been brought under control after a frantic effort. The amount of damage has not been ascertained yet, "said the factory's AGM, Jaynal Abedin.
