A Jamalpur court has sent the two accused involved in the murder of journalist Golam Rabbani Nadim to jail.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Tanveer Ahmed passed the order on Tuesday afternoon.
Advocate Yusuf Ali, the plaintiff's lawyer, said that after a one-day remand on Tuesday afternoon, Shadurpara UP Chairman Mahmudul Alam Babu's associate Noyon Mia was taken to the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Tanveer Ahmed of Jamalpur Chief Judicial Magistrate Court. The court directed Noyon to be sent to jail.
During the one-day remand interrogation ordered by the court regarding the murder of journalist Nadim, Noyon Mia admitted to the police that another person named Andolon Sarkar was involved in the incident. Later, the police conducted a raid on Monday night and arrested Andolon from his house in Madhya Datuakanda village of Bokshiganj upazila.
Bokshiganj police handed him over to DB police on Wednesday morning.
In the afternoon, Senior Judicial Magistrate Tanveer Ahmed ordered to send him to jail for interrogation.
So far, 15 people have been arrested in connection with the murder of journalist Nadim.
Nadim, who had been seriously injured in an attack allegedly by some supporters of Babu in the Pathati area of Bokshiganj upazila on June 14, died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital the next day.
He was the Jamalpur correspondent for Banglanews24.com and a Bokshiganj upazila correspondent for Ekattor Television. He was also a member of the Jamalpur Press Club.
A case was lodged against 47 people naming now-suspended Sadhurpara union parishad (UP) chairman Mahmudul Alam Babu as the key accused in connection with Nadim's murder.
