This time triplets born in Barisal on Thursday have been named - Swapno, Padma and Setu.
The three daughters were born to Nurunnahar Begum, 21, and Babu Sikder, the driver of a rented motorbike. They are residents of Charamaddi union of Bakerganj upazila in Barisal.
Babu said Nurunnahar was rushed to Dr Mokhlesur Rahman private hospital on Thursday morning after she started experiencing labour pains.
“Everyone who visited to see my children since morning suggested we name them Swapno, Padma, Setu keeping in line with ‘Padma bridge of our dreams’ so we named them accordingly,” he added.
Dr Munshi Mubinul Haque said that two of the newly born babies weigh 1.5kg and one weighs 1kg 400 grams.
Dr Shamim Hossain, another doctor who helped performed the caesarean section delivery said that the mother and children were sent to a medical college hospital for advanced treatment due to complications in the premature birth of the children.
Last Friday, triplets born in Narayanganj were named after the Padma Bridge. The prime minister sent greetings and three gold chains to the babies as gifts.
