A worker was killed and another injured in an accident at a shipyard in Chittagong’s Sitakunda upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Bulbul Islam, 34, son of Mohammad Mumtaz of Naogaon district. He was a laborer in the Sagarika Ship Breaking Industry.
The deceased's cousin Md Shakil Hossain said a heavy aluminum boiler tank fell on Bulbul at around 12pm. His head and hands were severed from his body.
Another worker Mohammad Harun Rashid, 28, was rushed to the hospital after being injured in the same accident.
Confirming the matter, Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) outpost Assistant Sub-Inspector Mohammad Alauddin told Dhaka Tribune that other workers from the yard brought out the body parts of the deceased around 3:30pm.
The body has been kept in the morgue for autopsy, he added.
