A general diary (GD) has been lodged against five officials of Khulna Railways over allegations of selling tickets in the black market.
The accused are Khulna Railway Station TXR Ratul Islam, Md Zfar Mia of the IW office, Assistant Station Masters Tota Mia, Md Asheque Ahmed and Md Zaker Hossain.
Station Master Manik Chandra Sarker filed the GD with Khulna railway police station on Monday.
Md Khabir Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khulna railway police, allegations of buying tickets in the name of political leaders and selling them at the black market.
He added that they have already appealed for an investigation into the matter and steps will be taken accordingly.
Meanwhile, in his GD, Station Master Manik Chandra Sarker mentioned that around four or five unknown people along with the five accused are involved in selling the tickets in the black market.
He added that when they are unable to get a ticket in the name of a political figure, they bring outsiders and harass the station master.
Moreover, they plan on vandalizing the station if the demands for their tickets are not met.
“There is no VIP ticket in railways. But they are violating government orders anyway. The higher authorities have been involved and the GD has been filed to ensure the security of the station,” the station master said in the GD.
