Travel Ticket Examiner (TTE) of Sundarban Express Shafiqul Islam returned to his office on Monday in Pakshi Railway Department following withdrawal of his suspension order.
He said a control order has been given to the Senior Inspector of Train Barkatullah Alamin from the divisional manager (DRM)’s office.
“I came back to the office under his direction. I have submitted an application form to start working. Once I get the schedule, I'll get to work," he said.
The suspension of TTE Shafiqul Islam was withdrawn on Sunday, amid widespread criticism.
Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan confirmed the matter at a media call.
He said his wife had been involved in the incident, and that he had nothing to do with the matter.
Shafiqul Islam on May 4 fined three passengers, who had introduced themselves as relatives of Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan, for travelling without tickets.
Pakshi Divisional Commercial Officer Nasir Uddin ordered Shafiqul’s suspension the next day.
The incident triggered a social media furore.
Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity demanded the resignation of the Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan over the incident on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the government has launched an investigation to probe into the incident of travelling without tickets on a train and allegations against Shafiqul.
Railway Assistant Transport Officer Sajedul Islam Babu is leading the three-member team formed by the Pakshi Railway Divisional Office.
The probe body has been tasked with submitting the report within five working days.
