11-year-old riding motorbike killed in Pabna accident

Accidents occur when inexperienced youngsters ride motorcycles carelessly, say police

A boy was killed and his two paternal cousins were injured when a motorcycle and a microbus collided head-on at Kundipara Bazar of Pabna’s Sujanagar on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as 11-year-old Tiham. His cousins Sifat and Taha were seriously injured. 

According to police and eyewitnesses, the trio set off on a motorbike from their home in Raipur village of Sujanagar Upazila towards Sujanagar Market. 

On the way, their motorcycle collided head-on with a microbus coming from the opposite direction at Kundipara Bazar.

Tiham died on the spot while Sifat and Taha were rushed to Pabna General Hospital.

Abdul Hannan, officer-in-charge of Sujanagar police station, said that, after receiving information, they recovered the body of Tiham and handed it over to his relatives. The motorcycle was recovered and brought to the police station.

Despite repeated warnings during the Eid, underaged boys go out on motorcycles and ride carelessly, he added.
