A 31-year-old man was killed while two others were injured in an alleged clash with members of a rival gang over establishing dominance in the district's Bakerganj upazila on Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Rony Mollah, son of Yeasin Mollah of Sanapara village under the Faridpur union.
The injured, Tarikul Islam Taufique, 35, and Shahidul Islam Shahan, 32, are undergoing treatment at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital.
Police said that 15-20 people, led by Union Parishad (UP) member Mamun and his brothers Sumon and Kawser, attacked the victim's house late on Tuesday night. It led to the clash that left Rony, Tarikul and Shahidul wounded.
Mostafizur Rahman, in-charge of Faridpur Union police outpost, said a police team rushed to the spot on information and sent the injured to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital, where Rony succumbed to his injuries.
A murder case will be registered in this connection and efforts are on to arrest the accused, he added.
