Police have arrested four people over the killing of journalist Mohiuddin Sarkar Naeem in Comilla.
The arrests were made late on Thursday, said Burichang police station OC Alamgir Hossain.
Of them, Md Farhad Mridha, 38, and Md Polash Mia, 34, are named in the case filed over the incident. The names of the other two arrestees could not be known immediately.
Further details would be provided at a media call on Friday, the OC said.
Naeem was shot near the Bangladesh-India border in Burichang upazila at around 9:30pm on Wednesday.
Locals rushed him to the hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival, according to police.
His body had four to five bullet wounds, said Burichang Upazila Health Officer Mir Hossain.
Naeem was a staff reporter for the Comilla-based newspaper “Comillar Dak”.
