Lightning strikes have killed three people, including a child, in separate incidents in the northeastern district of Habiganj.
The deaths were reported on Thursday from three villages in Baniachang Upazila, said police.
Mohammad Hossain, a boy from the Dakhsinpurba Union’s Tatari village, died at the local Eralia Haor, when he was struck by a lightning early in the morning, said Baniachang police OC Md Emran Hossain.
Around the same time, a woman, identified as Jhuma Begum, was fatally hit by a lightning strike at the nearby Jatukarnpara village, he said.
At the Eralia village, farmer Alamgir Mia died on the spot when a lightning struck him.
