BSF detains Bangladeshi farmer along Naogaon border, says BGB

BGB submits a letter asking for a flag meeting to release him

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has detained a Bangladeshi farmer at Porsha border in Naogaon.

The detainee was identified as Mamun, 36, of Srikrishnapur Kuladanga village of Nitpur Union.

Naib Subedar Farooq Hossain of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 17 Hampania Camp confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Tuesday.

He said that Mamun was irrigating his Boro Paddy field on Tuesday morning when some BSF members of the Kedarapara camp on patrol took him away.

A letter was sent to the BSF asking for a flag meeting to release him, the BGB official added.
