A 29-year-old worker of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant Project in Pabna died after a heavy metal fell on him from a crane on Thursday.
The deceased, Billal Prodhan, hailed from Bajitpur Upazila of Kishoreganj.
He was working as a labour at the project.
Police said that the deceased was working at block 3 in the morning. He was laying steel slates when the metal fell from a crane above him, injuring him severely.
He was rushed to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex where a duty doctor declared him dead on arrival.
Asaduzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Iswardi police station, said that an unnatural death case was filed over the worker’s death.

The contractor company, for which Billal used to work, has also been informed so that the family of the deceased gets compensation, he added.
On February 23, another worker of the plant died after falling off the reactor of the plant.
