Two individuals and an organization have been nominated for the “Bangabandhu Award for Wildlife Conservation” for 2021 in three categories.
The nominations were finalized on Thursday at a meeting of the Wildlife Advisory Board, chaired by Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin.
The late wildlife researcher Dr Mohammad Anisuzzaman Khan is nominated in the wildlife education and research category, Bogra’s Govt Azizul Haque College in the category dedicated to wildlife conservation, and Chuadanga’s Bakhtiyar Hamid in the forest and wildlife conservation officer, renowned researcher, scientist, wildlife conservationist and media personnel/personality category.
With the extinction of wildlife, Minister Shahab Uddin said, the ecological balance is being disturbed, resulting in environmental disasters.
That is why the government is working for the conservation of wildlife, he added.
