As many as nine skeletons were reported stolen from a graveyard in Manikganj’s Ghior Upazila in the early hours of Thursday.
The skeletons were stolen from the Jannatul Baqi Graveyard lining the Dhaka-Aricha Highway.
Ghior police OC Riaz Uddin Ahmed Biplob confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
He said that unidentified miscreants dug up the graves in the middle of the night and stole the skeletons.
OC added that Rapid Action Battalion and the Criminal Investigation Department have been informed and legal actions will be initiated over the matter.
