A Kazakhstan national, working on the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project, has been stabbed to death.
The incident, which occurred in a room of the Green City residential area of the project in Pabna’s Ishwardi upazila on Saturday, also left another Kazakh injured.
Vladimir Chavetz CollectedPolice later detained three Belarusians for questioning in this connection.
The killing is believed to have been caused by a fight between some Belarusians and the deceased—a 52-year-old named Vladimir Chavetz—over pecuniary matters, said Additional Superintendent of Police Masud Alam.
Vladimir worked for a contractor called Nikim. There are at least four stab wounds in his back, according to police.
Police said they were having trouble getting a better understanding of the whole situation due to the language barrier.
Further details will be communicated after a thorough investigation, said Additional SP Masud.
