The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested two people for trying to kill a sub-inspector (SI) of Bagerhat’s Kachua police station.
A RAB-6 team arrested Mehedi Hassan Jewel, 27, the prime accused, and Rubel Mollah, 28, from Pirojpur on Thursday afternoon.
SI Rabiul Islam was part of anti-drug drive in Maghia area on March 20, RAB-6 said in a statement.
"While Rabiul was frisking Jewel, he sped away, but came back with around six others equipped with sharp weapons and they stabbed the police officer indiscriminately with the intent to kill him," said RAB.
A case was started with Kachua police, while RAB-6 launched a shadow investigation into the matter.
