He was identified as Md Babul, 30, hailing from Debidwar Upazila.

RAB-11 Commander Maj Md Shakib Hossain confirmed the matter on Sunday afternoon.

According to the RAB, the Tisha Paribahan bus lost control on the Dhaka-bound lane of the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in the Nazira Bazar area on March 10 and pushed the victim’s motorcycle from behind.

Victim Didar Hossain, 38, was standing with his motorcycle on the highway.

He was seriously injured in the incident. Later, he was rushed to Comilla Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

After the accident, the killer driver left the bus and fled the scene.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Abdullah of Mainamati highway police filed a case with Burichang police station in this regard.

The elite force also started an investigation and captured the bus driver with the help of information technology, said Maj Shakib.

During interrogation, the driver said that he had left for Dhaka from Nabinagar in Brahmanbaria on the morning of March 10.

“Due to tireless driving and excessive speed, I could not stop the bus even after seeing Didar,” he continued.

The RAB official said that they would hand over the driver to Burichang police station.
