Students of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) in Gopalganj on Monday announced fresh agitations demanding justice following the rape of a fellow student and the attack on demonstrators.
At a media call on the campus, students announced a four-point demand on behalf.
Their demands are — to arrest and punish the rapists immediately; provide safety to students living in the residential halls and around the campus; punish those responsible for attacking demonstrator; and the prime minister must be notified of the incidents by the vice chancellor.
On their fifth day of protests, the students plan to form another human chain and hold demonstrations, which include burning puppets that represent the rapists.
On Sunday, the BSMRSTU students brought out a procession and staged a symbolic execution in front of the university’s administrative building.
Meanwhile, authorities have decided to suspend classes and examinations till next Thursday at the university.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the academic council, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof AQM Mahbub, on Sunday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the six people arrested over the gang-rape have admitted to the crime in their confessional statements before a Gopalganj court.
RAB arrested them on Friday night from different locations of the district. They are- Rakib Mia, 22, Piyash Fakir, 26, Prodip Bishwas, 24, Md helal, 24, and Turjo Mohonto, 26 and Md Nahid Raihan.
On Wednesday, the female student was walking with her friend, when seven to eight men took them to a building. They beat up the friend and raped her there.
On Thursday, a group of locals attacked the protesting students leaving at least 30 people injured. Four critically injured students were hospitalized.
Later in the day, the students were assaulted on the campus again.
