Police have recovered the throat-slit body of a 9-year-old boy named Yasin Naeem from Rupatali area of Barisal.
Yasin Naeem was the son of Sagir Hossain, an auto-rickshaw driver.
The child lived with his grandmother Shirin Begum in Fuljhuri village of Badarkhali Union in Barguna Sadar and not with his father in Dhaka.
Inspector (Investigation) at Kotwali Police Station in Barisal, Lokman Hossain, said that they recovered the throat-slit body at around 9am on Saturday after being called in by local people.
The child's sister Aleya, her husband Sirajul Islam and their son Alamin were taken to the police station for interrogation, he added.
The body was sent to Barishal Sher E Bangla Hospital for autopsy.
