The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three people, including a newly elected UP member in a murder case.
RAB-9 Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Abdur Rahman (PSC, Artillery) in a press briefing on Friday confirmed the matter and said Faird Uddin was killed on January 31 over a dispute centering a Facebook status.
The arrestees are– UP member Nazim Uddin, Kawsar Ahmed and Mostaq Ahmed.
According to the RAB, Farid posted a status on his Facebook account on which Nazim Uddin commented and said that Farid will have to bear the consequences. Two days later, Farid was attacked and killed.
Farid’s father filed a murder case with Kanaighat police station naming six people for the murder. Police then conducted a raid and detained Nazim Uddin. Based on information gleaned from the arrestee, law enforcers managed to arrest the other two accused.
