Two passengers were killed when a bus rammed a locally made three-wheeler at Kalapara area on the Patuakhali-Kuakata highway on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Baizid, 14, and Selim, 47. Three more people were injured in the accident that took place at Ghutabachha area of Nilganj union at 8am.
Officer-in-Charge of Kalapara police station, Jashim Uddin, said the Kuakata-bound bus of Jamuna Line lost control in Ghutabachha area and crushed the vehicle from the opposite direction.
“The accident left two people dead on the spot, and three others injured,” he added.
Local people took the injured to Kalapara Hospital. After primary treatment, they were sent to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
Police seized the bus but the driver, driver’s assistant and the supervisor managed to flee.
