Police have arrested the driver of the truck that ran over and killed Rajshahi University student Mahmud Habib Himel on Tuesday night.
Titu Mia was arrested from his home in the Kashiadanga area of the city at around 1pm on Wednesday, said Kashiadanga police station OC SM Masud Parvez.
According to the witnesses, the truck, carrying construction materials, ran over a motorcycle near Shaheed Habibur Rahman Hall of the university at about 8:30pm on Tuesday, leaving Himel dead on the spot.
Himel was a fourth-year student at the Department of Graphic Design, Crafts and History of Art.
