Eight leaders of the Awami League’s units based in Rangamati’s Langadu upazila have been relieved of their posts on charges of violating party discipline.
The matter was disclosed in a press release issued by the district unit of the ruling party on Monday.
The eight include Langadu Awami League president Abdul Barek.
They were accused of working against the party candidate and being rebel candidates in the upcoming seventh phase of union parishad polls, as well as making negative remarks about the Awami League.
