Police recovered two bodies, including that of a newborn, from two different places in Tangail on Sunday morning.
The throat-slit body of the newborn girl was found in a drain near Nagarpur Upazila Health Complex, said Sub-Inspector (SI) Monowar Hossain of Nagarpur police station.
A young girl who had gotten admitted to the facility with abdominal pain on Saturday night might be the mother of the child, said Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Roknuzzaman Khan.
Meanwhile, police recovered the body of an as-yet-unidentified man from Bahuria union of Sakhipur upazila.
Sakhipur police station SI Monir Hossain said the body was later sent to Tangail General Hospital for autopsy.
