An activist of Chhatra League's Dhaka University (DU) unit was arrested with a firearm from Surja Sen Hall on Tuesday night.
The arrestee was identified as Al Amin Khan Razon, a supporter of Al Nahian Khan Joy, president of Chhatra League.
Razon is expecting a post in the next hall conference slated for January 30, reports our DU correspondent.
Confirming the matter, Moudud Hawladar, officer-in-charge of Shahbagh police station, said Razon was arrested with help from the DU proctorial team for possession of a gun.
"Al-Amin stayed in room No 101 of Dhaka University's Surja Sen Hall but he didn't have studentship. Legal action will be taken against him," he said.
