Police on Sunday arrested a man for allegedly raping his 15-year-old daughter from Badamtola area in Khulna. Asad, 48, an easy bike driver, was arrested at 10pm, after his wife filed a case against him. According to the case statement, Asad had sexually violated his daughter multiple times over the past month. On January 13, the rape survivor told her mother, Shirin Begum about the assaults. Following this, Shirin confronted her husband. On January 16, when Shirin and Asad were arguing about the incident again, locals informed the police.Officer-in-Charge Probir Kumar Biswas of Khan Jahan Ali police station said a case has been filed under the Women and Child Repression Prevention Act.Locals said the rape survivor was mentally handicapped.
