Met Office forecasts light rain in parts of Bangladesh

Lowest temperature recorded at 11.9 degrees Celsius in Tetulia

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Tuesday predicted light rain or drizzle in different parts of the country.

Light rain or drizzle is likely to occur at one or two places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Dhaka, Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions and the regions of Comilla and Noakhali, the BMD said in its 24-hour forecast issued in the morning.

The weather may remain mainly dry with cloudy skies elsewhere, it said.

Light to moderate fog may occur at some places from midnight to morning.

Night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged and day temperatures may fall by 1-2 degrees Celsius throughout the country.

The trough of westerly low lies over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining areas and the seasonal low lies over south Bay.

The highest temperature on Monday was recorded at 30.1 degrees Celsius in Cox's Bazar and the lowest temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 11.9 degrees Celsius in Tetulia.

The sun will set around 5:30pm on Tuesday and rise at 6:44am on Wednesday in Dhaka.
