As many as 667 constables of the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) have been transferred after the recent reshuffle of 218 officers.
Commissioner Abu Kalam Siddique issued the order on January 1, when Inspector General of Police Benazir Ahmed started a three-day visit to the northern city.
The internal move has been to make the activities of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police more dynamic, said Additional Commissioner Golam Ruhul Quddus.
“This will make them more diligent towards work and build transparency,” said the RMP spokesperson.
The transferred constables, who have been in the same workplaces for about 5 to 13 years, have been ordered to report to their new assignments within the metro police by January 15.
In December last year, the RMP reshuffled workplaces of 105 sub-inspectors and 113 assistant sub-inspectors within the metropolitan area.
