Police have arrested a fugitive accused in a case filed over the gang rape of a female tourist in Cox's Bazar.
Mehedi Hasan Babu, 25, was arrested from Ruhular Dale hill area of Khurushkul in Cox's Bazar on Monday night.
Md Mohiuddin Ahmed, additional superintendent of Cox's Bazar tourist police, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
A total of seven people, including four accused, have been arrested so far in the case.
On December 22, the woman was gang raped in a shack near Kabita Chattar in the city. She was later taken to a hotel called Zia Guest Inn where she was raped in the second phase.
The victim's husband filed a case on December 23 mentioning the names of four people and accusing two-thirds of them as unknown people.
