Police recovered another dead dolphin from the Halda River in Chittagong on Monday morning.

Locals informed the naval police after spotting the dolphin carcass at Ramdas Munshirhat area of Hathazari upazila.

Professor Manzoorul Kibria, an eminent researcher on the Halda, told Dhaka Tribune that the dolphin carcass could not be measured due to putrefaction.

He said the dolphin had multiple injuries on its body and there was a chance it died after being trapped in the nets of a fishing trawler.

On Thursday, the naval police also recovered a dead dolphin from the Barua Para area of Modunarghat along the Halda River. The carcass was 5ft long and weighed 40kg.
