A mass vaccination campaign has begun in Bogra with a target to inoculate over 170,000 people on the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's birthday.
The campaign kicked off at 9am on Tuesday and will continue until the target is reached.
Bogra Civil Surgeon Dr Gausul Azim Chowdhury said: “We have a target to administer the first shot of the Sinopharm vaccine to 178,500 people in the district under this campaign.
“We are administering the shots to only those who have registered. However, senior citizens will be able to walk into the mass vaccination centres without prior registrations and get their shots.”

The shots have been made available at a total of 155 centres spread across 12 upazila of the district.
Meanwhile, the local health department along with the people's representatives are working to make the vaccination campaign a success.
