A woman and her infant daughter were killed in a collision between a truck and a three-wheeler on Magura-Shalikha road at Junary in Shalikha upazila of Magura on Monday morning.
The deceased were identified as Sharifa Khatun, 30, wife of Ibadul Islam of Kulum village of the upazila and her 10-month-old daughter Khadiza.
Two other passengers were also injured in the accident.
Police said when Sharifa along with her daughter was going to Shalikha upazila headquarter in a rickshaw van the speeding truck coming from the opposite direction hit their vehicle around 10am, leaving the two dead on the spot.
Police seized the killer truck and detained the helper of the truck. The truck driver managed to escape.
Tarak Nath Biswas, officer-in-charge of Shalikha police station, said a case was filed in this regard.
