Two sisters drowned in a pond in Habiganj on Sunday.
The deceased are Mahi, 8, and Tisha, 6, say police
The incident was reported from the Bamai Paschim village at Lakhai Upazila of the district around the afternoon, said Lakhia police station Officer-in-Charge Saidul Islam.
According to the family, Mahi and Tisha were playing in their yard on the day of the incident. When they were not found for a long time, their family started looking for them.
Locals later spotted the children floating on the pond.
The children were rushed to the Lakhai Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared them dead.
