The overall flood situation in Tangail has improved as the water levels in three major rivers dropped further.
Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) said that water at several points of the Jamuna, Dhaleshwari, and Jhenai rivers was flowing maintaining a declining trend.
The water in Jamuna River dropped more 14cm on Friday. It is now flowing 38cm below the danger level.
While the water levels of Dhaleshwari dropped by 12cm and Jhenai by 1cm in the past 24 hours.

The two rivers are currently flowing 12cm and 19cm above the danger level respectively.
However, the flood situation in the low-lying areas of Basail upazila remains unchanged as most of them are still inundated.
River erosion has intensified in the district’s different upazilas due to the rapid decline in water levels.
Meanwhile, 980 hectares of croplands have also been submerged in the floodwater.
