The district administration has imposed a ban on public gatherings in Maijdee of Noakhali from Monday after three factions of the ruling Awami League announced counter programs.
Deputy Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md Khorshed Alam Khan slapped Section 144 on gatherings for 6am to 6pm on Monday, reports Bangla Tribune.

The political situation in Maijdee town became tense after the party high command dissolved the district unit on Friday.
Party’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader made the decision upon consultation with the divisional leaders. He is likely to announce a convening committee.
