Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a notorious robber and his accomplice with weapons from Banshkhali in Chittagong on Saturday.
The arrested are Mohammad Alamgir alias Didar Dakat, 50, and Mohammad Badshah, 40. Both hail from Baharchhara, Banshkhali.
There are at least 30 cases against Didar in different police stations of Chittagong district, according to law enforcers.
Acting on a tip-off, RAB 7 had set up a special check-post at Kalipur UP under Banshkhali police station and started searching vehicles, said RAB 7 media officer Mohammad Nurul Afsar.

In front of the RAB check-post, RAB members intercepted them and arrested the accused when two tried to escape.
The suspects were arrested with one single-barreled gun, two LGs and six rounds of ammunition.
Initially, during the interrogation, it was learned that they have been carrying out various criminal activities in different areas of Chittagong district, including buying and selling arms and using illegal weapons.
"The accused have been handed over to Banshkhali police,” Nurul Afsar said.
